Dora - Lost city of gold

Movie experience
Dora

I was in fact very surprised by this movie. One reason being is that I imagined it to be more childlike since Dora is a childhood character for most people , so I indeed expected the movie to be childish. However it was quit the opposite. The content was for a an age range of 12 - 20 with adult humour and content that most teenagers can relate to. The movie features a teenager coming from a different environment to blend it with the rest of society. Throughout this journey You see the main character struggling with being herself which is an important message for the target audience of this movie. Its main message is that you should always be yourself and never stop believing. The setting of this movie is related to the animation series the Original Dora. Its set in a jungle and therefore is very colourful and bright. It could be shot where the movie is based which is South america where the characters live. there is a big contrast in setting when Dora moves from the Jungle to the Big City. The genre of this movie is adventure and action which is clearly shown when Dora and her friends get kidnapped back into the jungle looking for her parents. The action shots are shown by running shots and stuns in the movie. The movie is also based on special effects and green screens as animals can talk and affects are used when magical events happen. Therefore special affects played a big role in this movie as its mostly based on fantasy as well and tried to make the story line look even more real with the live action .
